Why this Fundraiser?
Especially now during COVID-19 where adoption levels have decreased due to the need for physical distancing and appointment only visits, animal shelter costs may be higher and more animals may have to stay longer in the shelter.
This is why your t-shirt purchases matter.
Who is Danger?
Our mascot and inspiration, especially for this fundraiser.
BUY A T-SHIRT
Danger is 10.5 years old. Described by his human as ½ handsome gentleman and ½ American Bull Dog. He is also the unofficial mascot of CrossFit Lake Effect, a CrossFit gym with about 200 members in Holland, MI.
Each day you’ll find Danger greeting members, coaxing them to play fetch and getting his belly affectionately rubbed. He is CrossFit Lake Effect’s owner, Paul Burkert’s best friend… and where he goes, Danger follows.
Why T-shirts?
Several years ago, Crhis Allen, a member GBWM's president's CrossFit business, CrossFit Lake Effect, made a t-shirt with Danger’s image on the front and gave them to other members. It was a sweet gesture… a nod to Danger’s presence at the gym.
Recently, some newer members have requested a Danger t-shirt of their own. Rob Gibson, a member at CFLE, suggested using the t-shirts as a fundraising opportunity for the non profit, Giving Back West Michigan, which Burkert is also the President of.
